Wild Coast Tuf Enuf 2012

After numerous requests, we have decided to have a “Wild Coast Tuf Enuf” in 2011 and again on 2012.  This run will start one day later than the Ultra (ie. on the Tuesday) and will start at Hole in the Wall instead of Port St Johns.  This will eliminate the first tough day altogether and reduce the distance on day 2.  Day 1 will be from Hole in the Wall to the Haven and will be 39k (instead of 55k) From the Haven, the two routes are the same, will start at the same time and will overnight at the same stops.

THIS IS THE LAST ONE SO THE RACE WILL HAPPEN NO MATTER HOW MANY ENTER.

Race rules are the same as for the Ultra.

For entries see the Ultra list.

Overview:

The start is the magnificent Hole in the Wall.  As you travel west the terrain eases up a little and there are longer sandy beaches.  This event is for adventurous trail runners who will find their own way along the coast, this staged race from Hole in the Wall to East London, is a 200k 5 day run along a pristine and truly magnificent coast line.  Navigate your way along the coast, cross 21 rivers, some requiring a ferry to avoid the sharks, negotiate coastal dunes, forests and many coastal hills.  Stay nights at hotels. The final 18k is run in conjunction with the massively popular “Discovery Surfers Challenge”, after 4 days of solitude there will suddenly be thousands of runners and spectators and a special finish at Nahoon Beach.  The Wild Coast is a place you will never forget.

Shuttle will depart from East London for Port St Johns on 5th February and runners will then be transported to Hole In The Wall on Monday, the race will start on Tuesday.
